What is The Crooked Rail?
The Crooked Rail is a craft cocktail bar located in our historic train station. We create cocktails using spirits we make from scratch, offering a wide range of drinks from classic favorites to creative seasonal specials. It is important to us everyone has a good time, so we also have a rotating selections of local beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options.
What spirits does Mine Hill Distillery make?
Mine Hill Distillery makes vodka, gin, bourbon, rye whiskey, and an amaro. All our spirits are grain to glass, using only local raw grain. We mash, ferment, distill, barrel, and bottle all on site.
What is amaro?
If you haven’t tried amaro before, it’s a fortified sweet vermouth made by blending local wine with our neutral spirit and a mix of 16 botanicals, then sweetened with pure maple syrup. This unique product takes 7–8 months to create and is produced once a year.
What food options do you offer?
We offer snacks, including chips and dip, charcuterie, hummus and crackers, and cheese and crackers. We hope to expand our food menu in the near future.
Can guests bring their own food?
Yes, guests are welcome to bring their own food. We simply ask that no outside beverages are brought in, due to our liquor license.
Are you celebrating something special?
If you’re planning a celebration as a small group—whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or another occasion—please email us ahead of time at andrea@minehilldistillery.com. We always like to make your visit a bit more special.
Are children welcome?
Children are welcome. We ask you to keep a close eye on them to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are welcome in our outdoor areas. We ask that your pet is friendly to both people and other animals. If your pet is not comfortable with crowds or lively environments, this might not be the best spot for your furry friend.
What kind of seating is available?
We offer seating options for small groups and larger gatherings. If your party has more than 6 people, please let us know so we can plan ahead for your arrival. Outdoor seating, including patio tables, picnic tables, and a large fire pit will be available when the weather improves.
Do you host special events?
We love to host! We have regularly scheduled events like live music, singo, pet adoptions, and special ticketed events. Please check our events page at www.crookedrailct.com to see what’s coming up and how to make a reservation.
Do you host private parties?
Yes, The Crooked Rail and Mine Hill Distillery are available for private events, including bridal and baby showers, corporate gatherings, and weddings. We also offer private tastings and tours. To start planning, send an email with your event details to andrea@minehilldistillery.com.
